Coagulants are used to form small colloids for removal of particles from water
PERMAKEM AS offers both aluminium and iron-based coagulants and organic coagulants for special applications such as removal for heavy metals from flue gas or inorganic sludge.
Coagulants are used to precipitate particles from sludge or cleaning drinking water. Coagulants will also remove nitrogen and phosphorous from the effluent. Typically, coagulants have a high charge which it utilizes to create particles large enough for settling, often using a flocculant. Coagulants can also be used as a filter aid.
